Liv Again has formed a consortium with Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital and has been finally selected as the preferred negotiating institution for the Ministry of Health and Welfare and Korea Health Industry Development Institute's "2026 ICT-Based Pre-Consultation and Post-Care Support Project for International Patients."
Project Overview
Project name: ICT-Based Customized Remote Consultation and Patient Acquisition Expansion Project for International Patients from Mongolia and Vietnam
Lead institution: Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital
Participating institution: Liv Again Co., Ltd.
Target countries: Mongolia, Vietnam
Project period: From the date of agreement signing to November 20, 2026
Details of the Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital × Liv Again ICT Partnership
The core of this project is to build a four-stage, end-to-end service: pre-consultation → remote consultation (free of charge) → in-person visit for treatment → post-care.
① Development of an AI Multilingual Pre-Consultation Chatbot
A new AI chatbot dedicated to medical tourism will be developed, supporting three languages: Mongolian, Vietnamese and Korean. Based on NLU (natural language understanding), it automatically classifies the relevant department, such as oncology, orthopedics or internal medicine, when symptoms are entered, and it will be operated in integration with the existing critical and severe disease information platform. It is scheduled to be expanded from five languages to seven languages in the future.
② Remote Consultation Service Operation (Completely Free for Patients)
Specialists in the cancer clinic, orthopedics and internal medicine departments of Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital will provide non-face-to-face remote consultations to Mongolian and Vietnamese patients at least three times a week. The existing remote consultation fee of KRW 154,000 per case will be provided completely free of charge throughout the project period, fully removing the barrier to entry.
③ Coordination of In-Person Visits for Treatment
Liv Again's dedicated Mongolian- and Vietnamese-speaking coordinators will support treatment appointments, schedule management and multilingual interpretation at Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital. Round-trip transportation between Incheon Airport and Hwasun will also be provided for surgery patients above a certain cost threshold.
④ Local Post-Care After Returning Home
Through its local branches in Mongolia (Ulaanbaatar) and Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City), Liv Again will provide continuous post-care, including follow-up checks on recovery after patients return home, medication guidance and linkage to return-visit appointments.
Significance of the Partnership
This consortium holds special significance in that it demonstrates a leading model for the internationalization of healthcare outside the capital region.
Amid a structural imbalance in which more than 90% of international patient acquisition in Korea is currently concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area, Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital, which holds world-class medical capabilities, including selection as one of the World's Best Specialized Hospitals (oncology) by Newsweek in the United States for six consecutive years and three Korea Accreditation for international patient-friendly medical institutions (KAHF) certifications, is joining forces with Liv Again, which has local branches in Mongolia and Vietnam and a track record of more than 14,000 international patient referrals. Together, they demonstrate that a regional tertiary general hospital can also achieve global competitiveness by combining ICT with a local network.
In addition, this project is a policy demonstration case that directly aligns with the establishment of an ICT-based pre-consultation and post-care system, a key task of the Ministry of Health and Welfare's "3rd Basic Plan for Supporting the Attraction of International Patients (2023–2027)."
Future Plans
Starting with this partnership with Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital, Liv Again will pursue phased expansion.
2026 (Demonstration) — Complete development of the AI chatbot, achieve 100 remote consultations and 10 in-person patient referrals, and draw up standard guidelines for attracting international patients outside the capital region
2027 (Self-Sustainability) — Achieve 24+ patient referrals and break-even point (BEP), and secure a self-funded revenue base by monetizing the AI chatbot as a paid SaaS
2028 and beyond (Expansion) — Export the AI platform as a white-label solution (CIS and Southeast Asia), and extend the same model to national university hospitals outside the capital region, such as those of Chungnam National University, Jeonbuk National University and Kyungpook National University
